I forgot to mention that it is very rare for school to be canceled due to snow or other weather conditions in Spokane. The last time school was canceled was over 10 years ago, for the great ice storm of 1994.

Luckily, we awoke to a very beautiful, bright blue sunny sky this morning. Yay! We'll be able to get outside and have lots of fun.

Since we were all "trapped" inside today, I decided to bake bread. I've never successfully made bread from scratch today and I'm so proud to say that I DID IT!! I am so dang proud of myself :) I used Maxine's recipe from my "ross family cookbook". It's a recipe my mom recommends as one that isn't hard and sure enough I was actually able to pull it off.



The kids even love it. We've almost finished the first loaf. Part of the reason that I wanted to make bread is that we're running tight on funds and I wanted to see if I could be a frugal wife and come up with a way to stretch our money a bit further. It worked. Honestly, I've tried to make bread, rolls, etc, many times and they are always horrid. I did it!!
