Feb. 25th, 2009 01:24 pmI've recently learned that if a car is parked in front of the mailboxes, the mail carrier will just skip our house for the day. When this happened, I found it very frustrating because it was one of my neighbor's friend's cars. They were only there for an hour, just in time to prevent the mail from being picked up. I called the post office to complain (because I don't have anything better to do...why do I get so bent out of shape over the silliest things?) and they said that the postal carrier is not allowed to get out of her car and just walk to the mailbox. *sigh* I'll just have to ask them not to park there if it happens again. And what makes it a more complex situation is that we have a different carrier every day. So some days the mail is here by 1 and other days it isn't here until almost 5. Maybe I should just put a "no parking" sign on the post of the mailbox.
I took Petey to the dentist yesterday because he was complaining of a sore tooth. When I looked at the tooth, the gum above it was reddish-purplish (not the same color as the rest of his gums) and there was a small white spot. very small, like the tip of a ball point pen. I called the dentist and they had me come in right away. It turns out the discoloration is a bruise. The tooth causing him pain is a baby tooth on the way out. I guess a hematoma isn't all that uncommon. I've never seen anything like it on a loose tooth, but I'll take their word for it.
I found a wonderful surprise in my front flower beds this morning! Shoots of green are peeping up through the soil! This is one of the fun things about moving to a new house. You never know what will pop up in the spring time. I am taking these shoots as signs of spring. Don't try to stop me!
