Jan. 16th, 2008 09:20 pmZack had his eyes checked today. Everything was a-ok. I think he somewhat enjoyed the experience, what with all those neat machines they use to check eyes. He seemed to take it quite seriously. When the doctor asked him "is this lens better or this one?", he'd think very carefully before he'd answer. Also, when he was reading the letters off the chart to the doctor, he'd always hold his hand up in the shape of a C when he read C. It was cute. I'm glad he doesn't need glasses. However, I will admit there was part of me that hoped he needed them. I couldn't help but think it would be such a simple solution to his lack of interest in reading, his messy handwriting and his inability to focus at school. Oh well. Life isn't that simple, right? It doesn't matter, I'm here to help him no matter what.
My school money was bounced back because I failed to update my bank account info. It has made a mess of our account. It's a good thing you sent me birthday $$, Mama and Bill. I used it to buy milk, bread and cereal this evening. So, even though the bank account is in the red we still have food in the house and some money in our pockets. I spoke to my school yesterday and we should be getting everything straightened out by next Tuesday. We're so far behind on bills that it will take all my school money to get caught up (this includes paying for Chris' tuition as well.) Real life stinks sometimes.
Onto happier things: the snow is so stiff and frozen that we can walk on top of it with out sinking in. It's kinda fun. We've had bright, sunny blue skies all week and I love it. I don't nearly mind the snow if the sky is blue.
I'm reading "Typical American" by Gish Jen for my Lit class. So far it's very good. Add it to your "to read" list :)
