For those of you who grew up in snowy areas, or live in them now, what winter clothes do you feel we will NEED? I had a conversation with a native and she told me the kids needed:

thin gloves
snow gloves
snow suits
snow boots

Are all these necessary? I guess never having lived in snow myself, it seems a bit like overkill. My kids don't walk to school, so take that into consideration as well. Also, we very likely will be moving back to a temperate climate come the summer. Really, we have no idea where, but we're hoping to land the job in Memphis. Of course, I want the kids to be warm and have fun playing in the snow. I just don't want to spend money unnecessarily :)

This morning I made bacon and , ahem, filled the kitchen with smoke. However, it turned out to be a good thing because the smoke made the sunbeams visible :)

My neighbor's cat, basking in the sun. I tried to get closer, but he thought I wanted a visit so he got up to come over for a pet. He's so soft and friendly. I love this guy!
