"Bloods"

I just emailed my Prof. and asked him if there is another book I can read about the Vietnam war instead of "Bloods". I know the Vietnam war was horrific for the men who had to fight in it. I know our soldiers had to do things and saw things that scarred them for life. But, I just cannot read that book any longer. Let me be ignorant of the details! I don't want to know about these awful things. I asked my Prof. if there was another, less graphic, book I could read. I hope he'll be understanding.

There is a book of short stories about people either in Viet Nam, going to, running from. Man I wish I could remember the title. It was really, really good. I avoided reading it for so long but once I read it it was amazing. The guy who wrote it is wonderful. I'll ponder on his name and see if I can remember it.

Please let me know if you remember the title or author. My Prof. emailed back and said that he will give me another assignment. I'm glad he seems to be cool with it. It is hard to really know his personality, since this is an online class and I've never met him face to face.

I still don't remember it but I'll do an Amazon search and see if I can't find it. It's fiction, but the stories are really amazing.
