Pride and Prejudice

I am spending my free time reading "Pride and Prejudice." I love it so. I just finished the scene where Elizabeth declines Mr. Collins offer of marriage. What a master of wit and sarcasm Jane Austen was! My favorite line from this scene is when Mrs. Bennett (who talks and complains non-stop)says of herself "Those who do not complain are never pitied."
I am having a minor inner conflict about Book Club lately. I enjoy it so much. Not only reading the books, but also being friends with all the ladies. We discuss the books, but we also talk about our lives and its just a nice girly bonding experience. Another fun aspect is that we try to have refreshments that reflect the book we've just read (for example when I hosted "The Five People you Meet in Heaven", I served Angel Food Cake and when I hosted "At Home in Mitford" I made the famous Orange Marmalade Cake). The conflict lies in the fact that I really should be using my free time to read school assignments. I always have something I should and could be reading for class. I sometimes try to even things out by only reading book club books in the bathroom or during lunch, but inevitably I get caught up in them and end up reading in every spare moment. Guess I need to exercise a little more self control. It is just when I'm faced with the choice of "Bloods" (my current assignment for school) which is full of gore and depression, or my all time favorite, it is hard to make myself put down the treasure for the trash.
Connor has a horrible diaper rash. It all started when he had some ice cream last weekend. It turns out he, like me, is lactose intolerant. If he has any type of milk (even yogurt) he has an upset tummy for about 2 days. He even goes in his sleep which is why his diaper rash is not clearing up at all. Poor guy...
