I had Richard and Cherie (Chris' older brother and wife) over for dinner tonight. My kids just love spending time with their cousins. It makes the craziness of this move so worth it just to see how content they are to be around family. Tonight Josh asked me if we could go visit my parents tomorrow. When I told him no, he was very disappointed. It makes me happy that he thinks about them and wants to see them again so soon.

For dinner I made pork barbacoa salad. It is a lot of work, but so yummy. Besides, I rarely cook these days, so this was about two weeks worth of cooking all in one night. And I have lots of left overs to enjoy.

Tomorrow Max turns one! We're taking him to the dog park in the morning for his birthday treat. He is such a rascal lately. Tonight he climbed onto the kitchen table. This was never an issue in Idaho because we have a higher-than-normal table and he's too little to reach the chairs. However, as that is in storage, we are currently borrowing a normal height table from Margaret. I knew he could climb onto it, as I came home from work last week and found him asleep on the table. Since then, I've make sure all the chairs are pushed in so he can't climb up. Well, it was quite embarrassing tonight to have company over and have Cherie be the one to tell me that Max was on the table. Ack. He is really good in so many ways, but in other ways he still has a lot to learn. He knows several tricks, such as high five and pirouette. But in some basic manners, he's lacking. He also LOVES to take baths. When I give the kids baths, he begs to be allowed into the tub. He's such a wacky dog :) I'll have to post a pic tomorrow in honor of the birthday boy.
