Went to the beach today and FRIED my legs. It hurts to walk. I'm just so very white. I wanted to get some color on my legs so that they weren't blinding, but now I look like a tomato. Ah well.
Took the kids to see "Shorts" tonight and they loved it, as did I. It was super silly, like all those Troublemaker movies are, but I could enjoy it for what it was. It got the kids speculating on what they would wish for if they had a wishing stone. Very interesting to hear their deepest wishes.
I mowed the front "yard" today. I have no idea what I'm going to do with that mass of sand, pine needles and weeds. There is no lawn pump in this yard and I can't be expected to water with city water. I suppose I'll just have to keep it as it, but I find it embarrassing to have such a yucky yard when the neighbor's yards are so nice. I suppose this is what happens when the owner of the house could care less. I'll just do what I can with it, starting with trying to eliminate all the sand spurs from the front yard. Never realized how much I appreciated finicky owners who insisted the yard stay nice. I think I prefer them much more over someone who's content to let a yard revert to natural Florida landscaping. No kidding: today when I was mowing I had a flash back to girl scout camp deep in the woods. That's how "natural" this yard is.
I've started letting Max sleep in my bedroom (not in my bed!) He sleeps on the floor next to my side. I like having him in here because it makes me feel more secure, but about once a night he gets spooked and starts barking. Talk about a rude awakening! I do like hearing him snore, though. So cute :)
