I haven't been very good about sharing my photos on lj because it is just so much easier to share them on facebook. Here are a few for your viewing enjoyment:

He looks very suspicious of me, doesn't he? This is one of the cuties from the family I'm renting from this summer. He's actually warmed up to me quite a bit since this photo was taken and tonight he greeted me with a big smile. This was taken at the FDR monument.

Personally, I was very surprised by how large this statue was. I've seen it in pictures and had always imagined that it was life-sized.

Outside the Jefferson memorial

There was also a peace rally taking place outside the Jefferson Memorial.

Saturday I went to the Hirshhorn, Freer and Sackler museums. It was awesome.

Because I'm dealing with Sanskrit manuscripts, I'm trying to use this time to educate myself on Indian culture. I have so much to learn; it's such an amazingly diverse culture.

Today the interns went as a group to tour the Capitol building.

Please share with me any info you learn about Indian Culture. One and a half years of dealing with my Indian students and I'm still trying to figure it all out.
