Spokane has a lot of weird streets. One ways that turn into arterials that turn into two ways, for example. Today I came upon an awkward intersection that I haven't seen before so I was approaching it slowly. I had the green light, but the other side of the intersection wasn't directly across from me. It was over to the right, so I wasn't sure if that green light was for me. To add to my confusion, there were cars turning across the intersection, which if I had the right of way, shouldn't have been happening. Needless to say, I always drive carefully but especially so when I have the kids in the car. So, I kind of inched my way through the intersection trying to make sure I did indeed have the right of way and that no other cars were going to turn into me. Well, apparently my caution was just too much for Mr. I-drive-a-BMW-so-I-own-the-road to put up with. He wanted to turn right and he yelled out his window at me "Move it, Fat A$$." Then as soon as I drove past him, he roared passed me.

Why do people have to be so rude? Really, were those 5 seconds so important to him that he thought it was acceptable to yell something so hurtful to a complete stranger?

I need a hug.

*hug*

i'm sorry that happened.

other driver irritate me to no end, but i would never holler out my window (esp. something like what he said!). i'd be afraid someone would shoot me or chase me or run me off the road!

i love it though when someone zips past me, then gets stopped at a light or behind another slow driver with no way to get around. :)

Sometimes I yell about drivers sometimes, but it's with my window up and only for myself to hear. I would never actually yell AT someone. You're right, it's scary to think what could happen. I guess this guy figured since I was a woman driving alone he could yell at me. Meanie.

*huge hugs* That's a horrible thing to say!

People are so scary when driving .. I accidentally was tailgating a group of boys one day, because my mind was off where ever .. When I heard yelling I looked up and they are all but hanging out the window flipping me off and proceeding to slow down to like 10mph. Scared the snot out of me. People are so darn hateful.

And for the record, I think you're beautiful. =)

This is Gainesville, every day. Luckily, it's primarily on the part of town where the college students and the rich people live. Where we live now I don't often run into the same kind of problems that I used to.

I think there is this huge movement towards entitlement. We've been noticing it in our students. The undergrad advisors always tell me about how their kids always feel so entitled to an A or good grades without working for it. And it's the concensus of the G'ville community that the "name"yer your car the bigger the butthead you are. Again, the whole entitlement thing. Ah well, at least that's over across town and where I am now it's a lot more peaceful.

Sorry that happened to you today. OH! hee hee, I never told you this. One day, as I pulled into the street that leads to my parking lot at work, I stopped to let this handicap woman cross the street. This guy in his...BMW!!...pulls up behind me, honks his horn several times and then zips around me narrowly missing the woman. Well because he was in such a rush, he parked first and was out of his car and on his way to his office. I park and as I make my way up the same sidewalk, I hear the woman just rip into this guy about how he needs to be a bit more patient and not to be quite such a jerk. He makes some comment about me just as I'm passing him. I turn around, not stopping my walk, and say, "Excuse me for trying to be polite and letting a lady with a cane walk across the street." and kept on going. That shut him up and the lady hooted and told him he deserved it. He made some other comment about not realizing that she was trying to cross the street and me stopping for her. She told him to shut up and that that was a bunch of crap. *lol* I'm glad she laid into him.

And yeah, BMW drivers are often buttheads.

that story is awesome and just what I needed! I'd like to think that all angry-driver jerks will have similar wake up calls someday. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to stop and yell back at him, but my mind doesn't work that quickly...which is probably a good thing. No need to stoop to his level.

Oh, I'm horrible about this. When we lived across the town I was always yelling at someone. After awhile you just get so sick of being everybody's scapegoat for their bad day.

Oh my gosh!!!! I hate people like that, which is somewhat hypocritical because I act like that, but I would never voice it. And no, those five seconds couldn't have been as crucial as your safety. Wow, you just opened my eyes, I should be more patient....

You're not like this at all! I've never heard you say anything mean like that. Maybe you think it, but that's a big difference between actually yelling it out. Besides, we all think stuff.

He drives a BMW and calls people "fat ass" because he has a small pee pee. It's true! They did a study and everything. ;)

A friend of mine wrote in my high school yearbook "Don't let the little people get you down." I remind myself of that when somebody does something like that guy did to you. Here's a *hug* anyway.
