here is the potatoe recipe: Sour cream-basil Mashed potatoes 1 1/2 lbs russet baking potatoes 1 tsp salt 2 tbs butter or margarine softened 1/4 tsp black pepper 1/3 cup milk, half and half or light cream, warmed 1/3 cup sour cream 1 tbsp finely snipped fresh basil
peel potatoes in a random fashion leaving about half the skin on each potatoe. cut into large chunks and place in a large sauce pan. add cold water to cover along with 1/2 tsp salt. bring to boil, reduce heat cook covered for 15 -20 min or till potatoes are tender. drain add butter, black pepper and remaining salt to potatoes. use a potatoe masher, mash slightly; leaving somelumps,if desired. gently mash in milk, about half at a time, then sour cream. switch to a wooden spoon, so not to over mash the potatoes. add basil. stir until evenly mixed.season with additional salt and black pepper if desired.
