I was just pulling weeds in the backyard and stumbled upon the weirdest spider ever!

Its the exact color as the weeds I was pulling. I screamed and threw the weeds down when I thought I saw it, then screamed and ran away when I actually did see it. Petey started running in circles around the house. He hates spiders more than I do, and we have a lot of them in this old house. Generally, I don't kill spiders. They're good for eating the more pesky bugs. I've just never seen one so big, so oddly shaped, and such a light color. This one is as big as a quarter.

In other news, Chris has banished one of the kids' friends from playing at our house because he was rude to me yesterday. He wasn't here when it happened, I just told him about it. I'm glad I have Chris to stand up for me when I'm such a push over at times. What happened is this: the kids had no school yesterday and this kid (not the stealer, another kid) wanted to spend the whole day at our house. I let him play for a while, but I had an art project planned to do with the kids (wax paper, fall leaves, crayon shavings....you know the one) and I asked him to leave. He always says "Why?" but not in a polite way. More in a whiny, defiant way. And this is his reply to me every.single.time. I ask him to do something. He was dragging his feet leaving, so I said "S., please leave now. It's time for you to go home" (you see, I am trying to be more assertive with these kids.) He said "I AM!" and kicked a toy on his way out of the room. I replied "Leave now, and do not come back again today." "I AM!!" he yells, as he sits on the floor trying to play legos with Zack some more. No, he wasn't leaving. He was delaying it as long as he could. So, in return for his rudeness, he won't play here for a week. He's already come over twice today trying to get in. The irony here is that my kids have never played at his house. He's basically not allowed to have friends over, yet his parents let him roam the whole neighborhood playing wherever. It's an awkward situation and I don't like being mixed up in it. Little kid drama! Who needs it.

it's a pokemon spider! lol

i had to lay the law down for a kid here the other day.
i found out that he had hit alex. that's one thing i HATE...for someone to hit my kids.
i made my oldest go find this kid and bring him back to me.
he walked up to the patio real slow. i let him know that we don't do that around here among other things and for him to not knock on my door for a while or to be around my kids.

the next day, he apologized.

kids can be SO rude sometimes.

uuuhhhh It's so weird! I remember my mom having to do something similar with kids in our neighborhood too. Little kid drama...does drama ever go away?

Freaky spider, both Mike and I shivered at the pic. Yuck!

I think that may be some sort of egg sac dealy. Kind of like a backpack. Not sure, but it seems I may have seen something like that somewhere along the way.

Vague enough for ya? LOL!

That's what I thought too, but we looked at it very closely and both decided it really was her body (we think it's a her, lol). Who knows...we put her back where I found her so hopefully she'll be able to settle back to life "before abduction". :)
