Idiot or not...you tell me
Sep. 30th, 2007 10:39 pmToday I read All You Zombies--.
Wow.
What a masterful piece of science fiction. I'm just in awe. Of course, it is mocking the whole idea of time travel paradox a bit, but that's part of what makes the story so awesome.
Zack was being extra good tonight in attempt to "make you happy, Mom." It worked! He is such a sweet, sensitive boy. I sometimes worry (I know, I'm a worrier! Blame it on my genes...I do!) that he'll get picked on at school because he's just so sweet. I ask him now and then how the other kids at school treat him and he never mentions getting teased. He seems quite happy at school.
Petey told us an odd story that happened to him while he was at church. He said he was using the bathroom and a little kid kept opening the door on him. He said somehow this kid knew how to unlock the door from the outside. Petey said he kept slamming the door and then finally leaned up agaisnt the door to keep the kid out. So, the kid laid on the floor and climbed under the stall! I asked Petey what he did then, and he said "I finally just left." Weird...
And now for a famous Petey line: Yesterday I threw a piece of ice into the sink and shattered a glass. I was muttering under my breath, berating myself for being such an idiot when Zack overheard me and said "Mom, you're not an idiot. Don't say that!" I replied, "Well, maybe I'm not an idiot, but I do idiotic things all the time." Petey piped up and said "Yeah, I think you're right Mom. That does mean your an idiot."
And, most importantly, today we were given a very nice set of bunk beds from a generous freecycler. This solves a lot of problems. I'm so thankful for kind people. Yay!
