I've stayed up much to late tonight. Must go to sleep...

Petey received another birthday gift today. This one came from Mariannette and family. She bought him to goldfish and a huge goldfish bowl. The fish are named "gold" and "hammer". Hammer is a black googly eyed type of fish. I think Gold will be one of those brain type, once he gets bigger. Both these type of gold fish sort of weird me out, to be honest. I like fish whose organs aren't protruding from their bodies. I went with Mariannette to pick them out, and I kept trying to steer her towards more mundane fish, but she really wanted the googly eyed kind. Hey, it was her gift and I won't complain. I'm sure I don't need to mention that Petey LOVES it. Perhaps once we get moved to our more permanent home we can get a bigger tank.

Zack. Zack! He has been such a rascal today and I just cannot figure out what is going on with him. He stood on a stool, by an open window (remember, we live on the 11th floor!) and started dancing around. He dipped his toy in the goldfish bowl and then sucked the toy dry. He ran in between the twirly whirl at the playground while it was spinning. It's like he has a death wish today. We talked about it (a lot!) and I told him he was going to be grounded from video games for 3 days. He told me he'd rather be grounded from tv. Fine with me. He doesn't realize it, but that is a much worse punishment because on a regular day they are limited to only 1 hour of video games. I'm not as strict with time spent watching tv. whatever, it was his choice. I know these 3 days are going to be horrid. He's going to complain and whine non-stop. I don't care. I have to do something to make him realize how dangerously he is living. It scares me to death to see him doing such thoughtless things. This is my sweet boy and I want him around for a long time! I know 3 days doesn't seem like a long time, and perhaps it's not long enough. We shall see if he earns his tv privilege back or not.

Connor is talking up a storm lately. The other day I had him sitting on my lap while I read to him. The other boys came to join us, which really upset Connor. He wanted mommy all to himself. "Boys, worksheets!" he yelled as he pointed to the table. He was trying to tell them they had to go do school work and leave us alone. He got embarrassed when we laughed, but it was just so dang cute!

I'm going out to see the campus tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to seeing our new home. Plus, I haven't even seen the Yangtze yet, and we've lived here for almost 2 months. It's time to see this historic river.

OH!! one last thought: We downloaded the season premier of The Office. I loved it, loved it, loved it! I want to say something to all my LOST buddies: don't put spoilers in your LJ!!! Please, puh-lease put them behind a cut. It takes us almost 24 hours to download a show and they don't even put them up on iTunes until the next day. You guys will know what happens almost 2 days before I do. Don't spoil it for me, I beg of you!! Thank you.

Yours, in LOST-ness,
Tina

Perhaps he figures that if his mother can almost walk into a falling building of bricks that he can take risks too, allbeit your was not a deliberate decision. Boys are boys. They do such things in the normal course of growing up. Mothers are mothers and keep them from going too far somethimes. Its a good arrangement, but can lead to a steady graying of hair. Bill

Also, he is probably competing for attention in ways that he knows will get it fast. Sometime, positive or negative, for a child , attention is attention. Bill

OK I won't email you about LOST (until you watch it), but I'll make a deal. When you watch it let me know so I'll know when its safe to talk to you abt it. It starts next week, I can't wait. They had a show on last night, but it was a recap of the 1st & 2nd season, just like they do befor the season begins. It helped refresh my memory.
