We spent quite a while today at the pool. I had the chance to chat with another mom of three boys. Her boys are older (sophmore, 8th grade and 6th grade). I'm always pleased when I speak with all-boy moms who love it as much as I do.

We also went to Target today and bought luggage. That seems like a monumental step. We also bought 10 bars of deoderant, as it is generally difficult to find in China.

Tonight we'll be having pizza and watching Spiderman 2 together. Fun stuff.

I like that picture. Makes me want to go swimming and buy an inner tube too!

Our new place has a nice pool and we're right close to it. I think I'll spend some time there this summer.

I did want to say something to you about swimming and I had forgotten so thanks for reminding me. Last week you said you hadn't gone swimming for years because you were embarressed to wear a swim suit in public. It reminded me of an experience I had last year at the pool. I was sitting there reading - wearing jeans- while the kids swam. This chatty lady kept talking to me and finally said "Aren't you hot? Why aren't you in the pool on such a hot day?" I said something belittling to myself, like "Believe me, you wouldn't want to see me in a bathing suit. It's not a pretty site." I think she said "Why?" and I said "I'm too fat." She did a scoffing type of laugh and said "No one cares about that."

I kept thinking about it for a few days afterwards and I realized how right she was. It was a big deal in my mind, but most other people at the pool wouldn't notice or care what size I was.
