User pics, anyone?
Feb. 17th, 2010 09:58 amJust upgraded to a paid account for the first time in a year or so. Is my layout too cutesy/bright? I like it because it reflects how I'm feeling today: much more upbeat and cheerful than I have felt in days (weeks?) We had our pinewood derby committee meeting last night and I realized that this thing is going to be awesome and run along with little problem. I feel like a load had been lifted off my shoulders.
I also seem to have ditched all my extra icons somewhere along the way. I now have only 8 out of 46 so I need to go on an icon hunt. If you have one that you think suits me, feel free to suggest it :)
Also, I got one of my due dates mixed up (yet again) on an assignment and finished something a week ahead of time. I love being ahead of the game--I'm sure that also accounts for today's good spirits.
Last night Chris and I watched "Slumdog Millionaire" for the first time. Wow. I now see what all the fuss is about. I loved it. It reminds me a lot of the book I read this summer, "A Fine Balance" in the hardships he went through in his life. I'd love to go to India someday. Of course, from watching the movie, it would seem that I'd be robbed blind while there. Still, I'd love to go.
The whole family now has this cruddy cold. I'm on the mend but we all sound like we've got the black lung.
I have to read "The Tale of Desperaux" and "Sarah, Plain and Tall" for class this week. I love such assignments. I've read "Desperaux" in the past; I really wish she'd assigned Kate DiCamillo's newest book The Magician's Elephant because I'd love to have an excuse to read it. I need excuses to read these days, you see. Too too busy.
