Yesterday I had to find the gross national product of Puerto Rico and in the process, I ran across some figures that I found very interesting.

Here is the gross domestic product of Idaho for 2007: 51.1 billion.

Now compare that with some states you are all more familiar with (all figures are in billions):

Arizona: 247.0

Arkansas: 95.4

Alabama: 165.8

Florida: 734.5

New Jersey: 465.5

Minnesota: 255.0

Washington: 311.3

Kansas: 117.3

Missouri: 229.5

The ironic thing is that when I grew up in Alabama, I always thought it was a "poor" state. Little did I know...

I thought Max was barking at the mailman, but he didn't stop barking after the mailman left. A few minutes later and he's still barking.

He was barking at the sound the tomato soup made as it boiled over onto the stove. For some reason, I can never remember that I'm making soup (when I make soup, that is.) He was trying to tell me something odd was going on in the kitchen. He's like some kind of squish-faced Lassie!
