Yesterday I had to find the gross national product of Puerto Rico and in the process, I ran across some figures that I found very interesting.
Here is the gross domestic product of Idaho for 2007: 51.1 billion.
Now compare that with some states you are all more familiar with (all figures are in billions):
Arizona: 247.0
Arkansas: 95.4
Alabama: 165.8
Florida: 734.5
New Jersey: 465.5
Minnesota: 255.0
Washington: 311.3
Kansas: 117.3
Missouri: 229.5
The ironic thing is that when I grew up in Alabama, I always thought it was a "poor" state. Little did I know...
