Here I sit, procrastinating writing an essay on "The Diary of Lady Murasaki." I'm so glad this is my last semester. I went back to look through my transcripts and discovered that since I went back to school at the Univ of Illinois, I have only made one B. All my other grades have been A's. This makes me feel a bit like slacking off on my last semester...Who cares if I make a few more B's...

I did apply for grad school, though. I applied to the University of Michigan's school of information. I'm hoping to get into their archival and sources management program. If this really does become a reality, I would take children's library-type courses for all my electives, to make myself more marketable for public libraries. The reason I picked the Univ of Michigan is because it is the closest school to North Manchester, Indiana, where we may or may not be moving, that has a library sciences program. It isn't actually that close -- 3 hours away. Still, I figure if I can get all my classes in once a week or something like that, then maybe I can make it work. One thing I know for sure is that I do not want to do online classes for grad school. It worked, but I can't say I necessarily enjoyed it. I'm ready to go back to traditional classroom learning.

Wendi, I am amazed by how much crap I have to send to the Univ of Michigan for the application process! GRE scores, 3 letters of recommend, statement of purpose, CV, transcripts from all 6 of the schools I have attended so far, and let's not forget a mission statement. Really, it is enough to make me ditch the whole idea (I don't sound very dedicated to this, do I?) Thankfully, I have until May 1 to get all this stuff in so I'm not worried about it yet. I'll deal with all that over spring break.

Speaking of spring break, Chris, the boys and I all have spring break on different weeks. Doesn't that suck? We many just take the boys out of school on the week Chris has spring break and do some traveling around the state. We have yet to explore Washington, and we really would like to see some of this beautiful state before we move on. Hopefully most of, if not all, the snow will have melted by then.
