I just had a phone call from "First Marblehead". Hmm. I know no one by this name, so I will not answer. First Marblehead, if you want to speak to me just leave a message. I only talk to Second Marblehead.

The weather is glorious today. Josh and I went to the park directly after dropping the boys off at school and did some walking/jogging. It was short lived, but an effort was made. Josh got bored with the walking in circles. While we were there we saw a herd of pugs. One of them only had three legs, so I wondered if the man walking them was a pug rescuer. At one point he yelled to one of the dogs "C'mon Pugsley. Keep up with the rest of us!" Pugsley! What a perfect name for a pug.

After we got back from our short-lived walk I did some rearranging downstairs. I think I finally have the basement how I want it. I got all the boxes (so many books! I think they must be breeding down there when we aren't looking) moved from the finished part of the basement to the unfinished part. Chris finally has an office set up in one of the rooms and we have all the kids toys in the other. It's nice to have all the toys downstairs.

Earlier this week, the neighbor kid's dad came over to see why his son wasn't allowed at our house any longer.Read more... )

I'd love to hear any suggestions you guys might have to help with this awkward situation. :)

When Petey came out of school today, he told me they learned a new drill. This one was for when bad guys come to the school. They learned two different procedures, one for if the bad guy is outside the school and one for if the bad guy is in the school. I asked him what type of bad guy it might be, and he said "You know, like a crazy guy or a robber with a gun. Or maybe a parent who is so angry that he goes crazy and yells at the principle."

I realize that the threat of a crazy guy with a gun coming to the school is very real in the world we live in. Still, this was quite a wake up call for me to learn that they are preparing in case of such an event with drills. It's a bit scary.

In a completely different train of thought, Chris and I have started watching House for the first time this season (we got to into with reruns this summer). I've been trying to figure out what all the Mormon bashing is about. I know nothing is sacred with House, that's his deal. I get that. But why would the writers decide to focus on something as random as Mormonism, so intensely? After much thought about it, I've decided it is because of Mitt Romney's bid for presidency. Anyway, as a Mormon, House's bashing doesn't really bother me. It's a bit funny. Still, it does bother me when the show gets things so wrong (like Cole's prayer...nothing like a true Mormon prayer would have been uttered.) It will be interesting to see how things go, and if the Mormon doctor stays on the show or not.
