Sep. 13th, 2007 01:50 pmI took some Excedrin this morning because I felt a headache coming on and ever since then I've felt dizzy and a bit shaky. I don't like feeling this way.
I spent the morning with Josh. We built four different Imaginext castles as a surprise for the older boys when they get home. I'm hoping this will keep them from caring that they won't get to play any video games this afternoon. We didn't have a good morning, as they kept ignoring everything I asked them to do. I had to ask them several times (brush your teeth. I said, brush your teeth! Hey you, with the fuzzy teeth! BRUSH!!) It was a rough morning. School doesn't start until 9 a.m. I thought that seemed very late, but I kind of like it because we can take our time getting ready in the morning. I've recently learned that the reason it starts so late is because in the winter time it stays dark until after 8 am. I've never lived this far north before so I was ignorant of that fact. I've also learned that the city of Spokane doesn't plow or put down salt in the winter. Given the fact that I've never driven in ice and snow before, this could be a recipe for disaster. This is an even better reason for Chris to get some kind of jeep or four wheel drive vehicle. Anyway, for those of you who live with snow and know how to function in it, please feel free to give me some survival/driving tips!
I finally got the toy room organized. I won't dwell on the fact that a neighbor kid came over and dumped out a huge box of toys the day after I finished because he was looking for one certain Pokemon figure. No, I won't even mention that I fussed him out and he hasn't come back since. Nor will I discuss the fact that Petey yelled after him as he was leaving "Next time you come over, you have to clean up after yourself!" I do feel quite accomplished for having that room done. I've got about 4 boxes of toys to get rid of, including a couple of really cool Hot Wheels sets (the T-rex and the volcano). The kids never play with Hot wheels anymore and that stuff just takes up too much room. Another interesting result of the toy clean up is that I have a huge pile of Pokemon, Neopet and Yugio(I know I didn't spell that right, but I can't seem to remember the correct spelling...) cards hidden away. I figure when the boys are bored sometime, I'll give them a few at a time to sort through. As it is now, they aren't missing them. Where did all these cards come from?!
Ok, I'm using this entry as an excuse to procrastinate my school work. Back to the grind...
After I read my friends' list :)
