Sep. 3rd, 2007 07:18 pmI'm utterly exhausted. I've been working hard all day, getting things ready for the boys to head to school tomorrow and cleaning the house. I think the hardwood floors make my feet hurt more than a carpeted house would. I need some kind of supportive house shoes. Crocs?
I got my first Freecycle item today! I've given away gobs of items, but never had the luck to receive something. We are now the proud owners of a crab shaped sand box. It was dirty and a bit stinky when we got it, but the boys had tons of fun scrubbing it clean. They got soaked in the process, but that's a good thing if they're happy and occupied. It's now clean and ready to be filled with sand. Luckily it has a lid; we have quite a few cats roaming this neighborhood and they frequently wander through our yard. I think we must have a cat-shortcut to the alley in our backyard. I don't want those kitties thinking we're providing them with a huge, new litterbox :)
Still no luck with the car-hunting. Chris has the hopes up of a certain car dealership and they've been calling non-stop. They don't care if he's not home, they try to talk him into buying the Jeep via me. Yesterday while we were at church one of the guys called three times. Three times in three hours! He left one message that cracked me up: "C'mon, you're a professor of World History! Just think how astute you'd look driving onto campus in a Jeep Liberty." However, he mispronounced astute and it sounded more like he said "ass-toot." Classic. He'd really like that car, but it would stretch us too thin.
We went to a "lemon lot" type place today but both cars he looked at turned out to have major problems. This is hard work trying to find him a car.
