I can't wait for school to start. The kids and I are driving each other nuts. They wake up first thing every morning and ask to play video games. Every morning I tell them they have to get dressed, eat breakfast, and do a worksheet first (Pete's teacher sent him home with a stack of homework for the summer, and I make Zack do some work too so all is fair.) They know this is what must be done before video games, yet every single morning they ask if they can play right away.

Both Chris and I woke up with headaches this morning. Perhaps caused by a change in the weather, I don't know. I hate waking up with a headache. At least I didn't have any disturbing dreams last night (as I did the two nights before.)

I plan on cleaning the house all day today. Doesn't that sound like a fun filled and stimulating day? Blah.

Lately, Pete has been asking LOTS of questions. One of the topics he seems fascinated with is what things are made up of. "Mom, what's inside walls (windows, plants, animals, our brains, etc)" Just now he asked me an interesting one.

Warning: Little boy, immature type humor ahead....

"Mom, what's inside of my penis?"

After I thought for a moment I replied "Muscles, blood -"

He cut me off here and said "Missles!?"

He cracks me up sometimes.

29. 84, Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff. I LOVED this book. Thank you ever so much, which ever LJ user it was who recommended it a few weeks back. I'm sorry I don't keep track of names or else I would thank you by name. This book is charming and I'm adding it to my all time favorite list.

30. Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident by Eoin Colfer. I knew nothing about these books when I picked it up, outside of the fact that it is a popular series. I like fairy tales and I did like this book, too. I doubt I'll be going on to read more of the series straight away, though. Can it be that I'm too old? I just felt that I wasn't enjoying it as much as I should have been. Perhaps it is still Harry Potter lag.

Next up, Gone with the Wind for my August book club read.

Literally, everything had a pink glow to it. I love Arizona sunsets. At times they simply take my breath away. Tonight, it almost seemed as if you could reach out and touch pink air. Lovely....
