(no subject)

My Great Depression paper is finished and turned in. The book I have to read next for that class is "Bloods: an oral history of the Vietnam War by black veterans." It should be interesting. I'm also working on "Pride and Prejudice" for my book club. I'm marking some of my favorite lines in it as I go along. Here is one by Charlotte Lucas:

"Happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance. If the dispositions of the parties are ever so well known to each other, or ever so similar beforehand, it does not advance their felicity in the least. They always continue to grow sufficiently unlike afterwards to have their share of vexation; and it is better to know as little as possible of the defects of the person with whom you are to pass your life."

Connor has turned into a major climber. Today so far I have found him on the desk and the table. I also caught him trying to figure out how to climb the ladder up to Zack's bunk bed!! Hopefully I will be able to head him off in most cases, until he's old enough to climb without endangering himself.

I worked out yesterday and and loved it. I really enjoy this PACE method. I met a lady yesterday who has been doing it for 8 months and she looks great. When she started, she was a size 16. I would guess her for about a size 8 now. Of course, she does it for 70 minutes at a time (instead of the recommended 30) and she also does weight watchers. Also, she has no kids or husband to complain at her when there is no junk food in the house. But, I am working on reprogramming our family when it comes to junk food, and they are slowly coming along (albeit not too willingly).
