(no subject)
Mar. 25th, 2005 07:13 pmToday I went to a parent meeting at Pete's preschool. Every month the center holds these meetings in order to teach parents "life skills". I go to them because I know the center gets funding according to how many parents attend these meetings. Today the subject was fitness and exercise. I was the only parent who showed up! The teachers and I ended up working out together. Pete was cracking us all up as he tried to do jumping jacks with us. Watching him try to coordinate his arms and legs made me realize how much skill a jumping jack really requires. I had a hard time concentrating on the work out because both Connor and Pete were busy wrecking up the place. The both spilled juice on the carpet, and Connor climbed on top of a table (he is such a climber lately!! Then he stands there so proudly with a huge grin on his face "Look what I can do!")The good part about this whole being the only parent who showed up situation is that I automatically won the door prize. I now have a 1 month free membership to a women's gym (Fast Fitness). I think its a locally owned place and they promote a 30 minute workout called PACE. I'm not familiar with it, but I guess I'll learn about it soon enough.
Zack brought home his report card today and he did great. He knew 25 of his sight words (last semester he knew 4). His teacher's comment: "Zack is trying his best. His academics has improved. Zack's attention span is affecting his learning." Yes, thank you for that editorial. Please tell us something we aren't already fully aware of.
