Oct. 13th, 2008 10:27 amI always forget that I have so many freckles...reminders of summers spent playing and swimming in the sun.

I'm posting this picture to showcase the magnificent earrings my dear friend
the_two_thieves made for me. She's recently opened up her own jewelry store here on lj in defiance of the two thieves who broke into her home, TWICE, and stole many of her and her hubbies possessions. She will not be trodden down, and this jewelry store is her way of finding resolution.
Some of you may know her as
themenow, and know that she and I have been friends for 17 years (wow!). We were bff's in junior high and reconnected via the wonders of the Internet about 4 years ago. She is responsible for introducing me to the addiction that is LiveJournal.
Check out her store :) She's very talented and creative!!

Date: 2008-10-13 05:59 pm (UTC)My favorites are:
the purple jade earrings and the 2 colored bracelet that your coworkers taught you to make.
But like I said I never wear any other than my wedding ring and I have lots that I never wear.

Date: 2008-10-13 06:04 pm (UTC)I say wear what you buy but don't buy if you're not gonna wear it. I got that from a woman who sells vintage jewelry. She used to get sad when people would buy her vintage jewelry and then repurpose it like I do. But she realized that ultimately she wants people to wear her jewelry. So if they have to rework the piece so they can wear it, she's learned to be okay with that. I feel that way too - I'd much rather have people wear my jewelry than anything. Jewelry is meant to be worn and shown off - all that girly stuff!

17 years! Holy moley...think I need to make a piece of jewelry to celebrate that!
