This morning at exactly 5:54 a.m. Petey burst into our bedroom. He had first turned on every light in the house. He was wide awake and ready to take on the day. Connor was awake too. Chris and I stayed up close to midnight, so we weren't exactly bright eyed and bushy tailed. Exactly where do they get all this energy from?

Last night we went to the movies. Chris took the older two boys to see The Fantastic Four and I took Connor to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I liked it a lot. I laughed all the way through it. I didn't like the oompa loompa's though. I thought it was silly of them to use only one guy for every single one. I hope they paid him well. Johnny did a great job as Willy Wonka; he sounded just like Mr. Rogers through most of the movie. He is a totally different Willy Wonka then Gene Wilder. I don't think you can even compare the two.

After the movies we went to Walmart. The kids have filled up their bean jars and earned their reward that they've been working towards for months. Petey picked out a pair of huge "thing" hands. When the hands are smashed into something, they roar. He has wanted some for over a year (they are also made as incredible hulk hands). He's been wearing them pretty much non-stop. Connor got a ride on truck thing. Zack picked out Pokemon cards. As if he doesn't have hundreds already. Ah well, it was his choice.

Tonight I'm going to a baby shower for someone that I don't really know. I've met her in church once or twice, but we've never really spoken. I'm friends with her aunt, who is throwing the shower. I dislike going to showers or receptions for people that I don't really know. Perhaps it is because we are on such a tight budget, I don't feel justified spending the money. I am going tonight though because I really like her aunt and this is the first shower, party, type thing she's thrown since I've lived here. I'd hate for her to have a poor turn out. On the invitation she wrote "Just show up" as if you don't even need to bring a present. I am; I still like shopping for baby stuff. Who doesn't?
