Some sort of weird thawing/freezing thing happened last night. On my windshield there was a sheet of ice, instead of frost. The door to the van tried to stick shut, but it wasn't too difficult to yank open. And this particular clump of grass kept catching my eye all day as I went in and out the front door. Frozen droplets of dew, which, by the time I took this photo, were melted yet still holding their positions.
Initially, Chris didn't think we needed to get snow tires on the car. Today, after driving in ice for the first time and skidding all over in that fun little jeep of his, he has spent much of his day researching snow tires online. *smile* I love my hubby.

Date: 2007-11-20 09:42 pm (UTC)Have fun with the Jeep in this weather. It's definitely a thrill ride *lol*. Do you have the plastic windows that you unzip or the solid windows that roll down? If you have plastic zippable windows carefully, carefully unzip them when it is super cold outside. Mike's second day with his Jeep: He was at the drive-thru, unzipped the window and bent it inward. Because of the cold the plastic was frozen and snapped. We ended up taping up the huge gash. I could have killed him.
Oh, and definitely use the four - wheel drive. it makes all the world of difference when you're driving through snow and such. And if you don't use it, you kind of lose it.
Jeeps are fun. We used to love driving around when the weather was beautiful and having the top down. Lots and lots of fun. I keep looking at the newest versions with the four doors and thinking, "Hrmmm....maybe in the future."

Date: 2007-11-20 11:49 pm (UTC)Chris has a hard top jeep, with glass roll down windows. I'll tell him what you said about using the four wheel drive. He's looking at getting a set of studded tires. I'll keep you posted. I know the tire choice we make is a enthralling to you, lol!

use the four wheel drive in the jeep, and if you have the plastic windows instead of hte glass ones: beware of cold weather. unzip carefully and do not bend the plastic as it will snap if it is frozen. Otherwise it's a totally awesome car to drive.
