Once upon a time there was a happy boy named Petey.

He had an awesome brother named Josh.

Josh was a bit disappointed when he realized he couldn't push the lawn mower all on his own.

Petey worked hard, pushing the lawn mower all around the back yard. Suddenly, he was overcome with exhaustion.



Mom decided this was a good time for her to take a lay down in the freshly cut lawn as well!



But she soon realized the job must be finished! Just as the last grass clippings were being swept of the sidewalk, Dad came home from work.



As Mom was greeting dad, she suddenly saw the cause of the fuzzy bug invasion! There were millions of the bugs swarming on the tree in their front yard!



How fascinating...especially to the boys. Petey and Josh both had to knock a few clumps of bugs off to see what would happen. They fell to the ground just like the plethora of autumn leaves that surround our home.



"Ah, well" says Mom. "A bug invasion is not much in comparison with what some of our neighbors are dealing with."



Yup. Life is good.

So what are those crazy bug things?

I know! That's what I got Petey for his birthday a few weeks ago and Chris loves to ride it. I had to take a pic of him, still dressed up in his work clothes and cruising along on that thing. As for those bugs, I've asked around and no one seems to know what they are called or really care. One person told me that they were gnats. Uh, no. I know gnats and those are certainly not gnats!!
