Today is Chris' birthday. He is officially 34, which he thinks is significantly older than 33. I disagree. His mom called and wished him a happy 41st birthday, lol. I suppose 34 can seem a lot younger compared to that. I made him a german chocolate cake, which the kids didn't like but that means more for us! We went out to eat at a local bistro; it was yummy but sent both Chris and I scrambling for the bathroom a couple hours later (tmi, I'm sorry). I bought him a couple Wii games (need for speed and the Godfather) which he exchahged for Zelda: Twilight Princess. That's cool with me. I knew I had no clue which game to get him. I just bought those games more as a gesture, so he'd know it was cool with me if he bought a game for his birthday. Oh the games we play (ha, in more ways than one!)

Both Zack and Petey came home from school with notes in their backpacks.

Petey's was from his teacher and said "Today was Petey's best day yet!! Great Job!" He was so dang proud of that. I was about half a minute late arriving at the school, so he was already waiting for me when I got there. I was standing patiently in our designated meeting spot. Even when he saw me waving at him, he didn't run over to me. He waited for me to walk to him. When I got there, he said "Mom, I have something for you that is the opposite of a pink slip (the standard disciplinary note the school sends home). He was so happy, and so am I. Not only am I proud of him, but I'm so thankful that his teacher took the time to write the note. It made his day. As soon as we got home, he hung it up on the wall in the living room.

Zack didn't show me his note so readily. Actually, I stumbled across it as I was checking his backpack for homework. It says "Dear Zack, meet me under the blue slide after lunch! From: Becky" Wow! That surprised me :) When I asked him about it, he said she just wanted to ask him if he wanted to be her friend. Of course, I couldn't help myself, I said "Girlfriend?" (add ridiculous voice inflection) He rolled his eyes and said "No, Mom. She's a tomboy." Oh, silly me, what was I thinking?

Josh started preschool yesterday. He seems to like it and hasn't been upset about me leaving at all. Petey was very concerned for me that I would be lonely all by myself with everyone gone at school. To be honest, I hardly had time to think about it because I was so busy today. I suspect that will be the case most days. I'm glad Josh is adapting so well.

I like Spokane.

I'm glad to hear that Josh likes preschool. I was worried about him being apart from you. He must feel safe and secure there in your new home. Also glad to hear Petey is doing well too. Didn't Zac have a best girl friend in AZ too? Maybe he has an easy way of getting along with the opposite sex. Or maybe he just likes to be friends with everyone.

*lol* This is your best ever post! Petey is doing the best job ever! I wish I knew him well enough to send him a little note saying, "Your other Aunt Wendi thinks you are one awesome kid!" I'm in love with his teacher, she is so awesome.

I had a really good chuckle over Zack's comment about his new friend being a non-girlfriend worthy because she's a tomboy *LOL*. Oh that poor, poor girl - I have lived her life *lol*. At least she'll have a good friend in Zack. I wish things could be this easy in adult lives: Do you want to be my friend? Check Yes or No. Are you mad at me? Check Yes or No. Do you want to go hang out at Maude's and watch the people going to the Hippodrome? Check yes or...wait a minute...I do that in email!
