Aug. 9th, 2007 10:30 amBefore we left, I got a new camera. The plan was to document our cross country trip with photos, but as of yet I haven't seen much that's inspired me to whip out the camera. I do love it though. It's perfect to fit in my pocket and super fast. So, today I decided just to take some pics, despite the lack of "interesting-ness".

This guy hitched a ride on our windshield this morning from the hotel to IHOP. His antennaes (antennai?) were so long!

Petey at IHOP, hamming it up for the camera.

Petey took this pic from the moving van. It's a great representative of what most of Missouri and Arkansas looks like. Grass and fields.

Brother Ben and I in Memphis at his restaurant.

The kids eating at Ben's restaurant. See the arcade behind them?

Josh, trying to smile for the camera. I took this and the following pic to show our traveling situation. Lots and lots o' luggage.

Fortunately, the kids haven't complained once about the lack of extra space. Awesome kids.

Petey's breakfast at IHOP. That should keep him hopped up on sugar for a good 3 hours, hmmm?
Chris and started messing around with the macro lens while we were waiting for our food this morning. The next photos are the result of that.

Happy meal toy.

Josh's eyes. He was patient with me while I took the pic, but he was frowning as he was concentrating hard on holding his eyes still :)

Today we enter South Dakota. I've been looking forward to this leg of the trip. Between reading My Antonia and Peace like a River I've learned a lot about the beauty of South Dakota. I'm especially looking forward to the Badlands. We won't get that far today, but definitely tomorrow.
