I've finally started the dreaded final paper. I'm about half way through and have reached a transition point that is stumping me. Time for an lj break, me thinks! I've found an awesome resource for my paper. It's a book by a scholar whose specialty is basically "Why video games are good for us." I read the first chapter of the book (thank you Drexel and your awesome e-book collection!) and I'd love to have a copy of the book for my own personal library someday.

Gee, J. P. (2007). What video games have to teach us about learning and literacy: Revised and updated edition. New York: Palgrave Macmillan.

So now that I've written a convincing argument that literacy is not just about the ability to read, but includes the ability to interpret sounds, pictures, smells, people, etc., I need to transition that into why libraries should provide gaming resources and why I feel that is a trend in the future of public libraries.

Chris gets home in 5 days. It's hard to believe that we've been apart since the end of May, except for a few visits here and there. I am never going to do this again. I don't care if he gets a job in Jabuti, we are all going together!
