Aug. 25th, 2009 09:29 amI discovered my new next door neighbor barking at Max this morning. Uh, ok...He made a comment yesterday to Max, saying "Don't bark at me, Dog. I'm your neighbor!" But if you bark at him and rile him up, he's going to bark back! I'm not quite sure what to do about that situation.
The kids enjoyed their first day of school. Josh didn't realize that I'd put his lunchbox into his satchel, so he thought he didn't have it and had to eat school lunch. He didn't like that (although they had pizza, which was always the best school lunch when I was a kid.) so the minute he walked in the door he sat at the table and started eating his lunch. He said to me, with a mouth full of p-nut butter-fluff sandwich, "Oh yeah, that is good." Crazy kid :) He checked three times today to make sure he had his lunch before I left him in his classroom.
In my adult life I have lived in Alabama, Florida, Arizona, Washington, and Idaho. Of all those states, Florida is by far the most complicated when it comes to setting up household. Here's a little example for you: in order to get my water turned on, I needed a Florida driver's license. I still have an Arizona license because no other state has required this of me (for those of you who've lost track, I've lived China, WA and ID since AZ.) The water was switched on, but I have only a two week grace period to get my FL license. This morning I went to the driver's license bureau to get my new license. I knew they needed my birth certificate and SS card, so I had those two items. However, I also need my marriage license and a piece of mail with my address/copy of the lease. Of course, none of these items can be copies--they all have to be originals. This is really no problem for me, I have all those things readily available. It's just so many hoops to jump through to get things established!! It was the same for getting the kids enrolled in school. Crazy amounts of paper work and official forms.
So now I'm off to try again with all the appropriate forms.
