The past couple days have been full of family fun. Yesterday we took the boys to Ft. Pickens. I love to go there. The walls just feel saturated with history. Unfortunately it has been closed for a few years due to hurricane damage to the road. It reopened this year and the kids had a ball. One of the coolest parts about the fort is that it has so many dark tunnels. The kids took turns daring each other to walk into the dark to see how far they could go. I was very impressed when Petey was the first one to walk all the way to the end of an unlit tunnel (maybe about 20 ft. long). I guess scared-of-the-dark is not on his long list of phobias (which includes spiders, lightening, wind, stinging insects and heights.) It did my heart good to see them all having so much fun together. I really am enjoying being all one happy family again.

Today we took the boys and a few of the cousins to the beach. It was also great fun. They spent the longest time digging in the sand. I guess building tunnels, canals and castles in the sand is one of those wonderful past times that we never really outgrow.

Hopefully the shop will be finished fixing our van tomorrow and then we can head up to AL to see my family. I'm really looking forward to seeing them all again. I'm even more excited about the fact that one of my friends from high school (Erin) is getting married!! She's invited a lot of people, and I'm likely to see many people at the reception that I haven't seen since graduation day. Yay! Lots of good things happening to counteract the negative :)

I just called the school to ask about registration. Wow. I have a lot to do before I can enroll them. Each kid needs a physical!
