Nov. 27th, 2008 08:48 amBonnie and I worked on pies all day yesterday. We made a pecan, Oreo, caramel apple and two pumpkin. We cut into the apple last night :)
I already have the turkey in the oven so I guess we'll be having a Thanksgiving lunch this year. I've found recipes for an apple-walnut vegetarian stuffing and vegetarian gravy (mushroom based.) We'll see how those turn out. Every year when Bonnie comes, it gives me an excellent excuse to try out new vegetarian recipes. I made lentil soup yesterday and it was so yummy! Carrots, tomatoes, onion, celery, and spinach (not to mention the lentils) with a dash of vinegar. So good :)
We celebrated Zack's birthday yesterday and as part of that we went to Toys R Us so he could spend the birthday money that Grampa Bill sent him. He bought a Gameboy game (Kirby Superstar Ultra) and a Yoshi action figure. He was so happy all day :) He kept saying it was the second best day of his life (although, when asked, he couldn't come up with what the *best* day was) and that this was the best birthday ever! Also, he had such a pleasant attitude all day! At one point we had a disagreement about something and he said in a surprisingly respectful voice "I'm just saying that's my opinion, Mom. It might be different from yours, but that's just what I think." lol, it was nice to have him so happy and content.
