Jul. 16th, 2008 03:10 pmI find it ironic how much respect the title "college professor" seems to demand. When searching for a house, I can always hear the difference in the tone of voice of whomever I'm speaking to when I say "My husband will be a visiting professor at the College of Idaho." They switch from indifferent to highly interested. Somehow, the idea of college professor equals extremely-responsible-renter in the minds of real estate gurus. Having been college students not too long ago, I'm amazed at the stark contrast between the two reactions. The funny thing is, that in Chris' case, he really still is a college student. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. Professors may not earn the big bucks, but if it gets us into a nice home with minimum hassle, then bring on the respect :)
We move in exactly two weeks from today. Isn't it sad that I already feel like tossing things in boxes haphazardly. I've about had it with trying to make this an organized move. Also, I've been thinking that when we move I may just leave many, many things still in the boxes. Why bother unpacking the scrapbooks and journals? We'll be moving again in a year, right?
