Jan. 26th, 2008 08:42 pmThe snow is pouring down again. We're under a severe snow advisory, with a chance of up to 10 inches by morning. This weather reminds me of "The Long Winter" from the The Little House on the Prairie books. Not that we are trapped by a blizzard, or that we have to tie a rope from the house to the barn to find our way, but this is the closest I've ever been to conditions like that. Thankfully, we got the kids out for some sledding before it started coming down too hard. They had a great time frolicking in the snow.
Chris twisted his ankle playing basketball. This happens at least once a year :) We went to the thrift store to buy some crutches for him and we found a treasure! It looked like someone had recently donated their whole camera collection. Chris purchased a Retinette, Argus C3 and an 8 mm projector, circa 1940's. He's been looking for one of those projectors for years in order to play the movies his dad took when he was a kid. Chris has collected cameras for years, but he hasn't had a chance to purchase any in quite a while. He's in hog heaven now.
Nothing much to write. I'd say the word that describes how I'm feeling lately would be: frenzied. Too much to do and no time to do it in. My literature teacher gives us no guidelines for what she wants us to post on the weekly discussion board. We are to read the assignment and then post our thoughts on what we read in 300-500 words. I have a hard time finding what I want to say and apparently, I didn't do what she wanted me to although how am I to know what that is in the first place? She asked me to back up my post with specific examples from the book. I should have done that in the first place, but I was trying to get the post in at the last minute and the kids had just gone to bed, etc. I'm having a hard time squeezing school in lately, for some reason. I'm too busy and I need find a way to simplify my life.
