For the record, I am officially undecided in my feelings about snow. Part of me loves all this snow. Perhaps that is the kid in me? I love how beautiful and peaceful the city feels when the snow is falling, I love how clean and pristine everything looks after a fresh blanket of snow. I love that the kids will play and play outside, using up lots of energy! However, I do not like how dang long it takes to get said kids in and out of their snow gear. I do not like the wet puddles of melted snow all over the house. I do not like wet, cold socks from stepping in said puddles. I do not like how gross and black the snow on the roads gets. So, over all, I'm still undecided. We have been late for just about everything we've had to get to since this snow fell. Aside from taking twice as long to get bundled up and out the door, I'm also driving with extreme care. Cars often pass me :) I still have my Florida license plate, so I'm hoping that elicits some sympathy from any drivers who may be irritated by my slowness.

It is snowing again right now and they predict about 6 inches during the night. I wonder how much snow is enough to call a snow day from school? I know in Southern Alabama if it snows 1/8 of an inch school gets canceled :)

Here are a couple more snow pics, and a cute Josh )

One more entry, and then I'll be done for the night.

Zack: Today is Zack's birthday. He's nine. I can remember being nine. It's hard to believe he's that age. He had a great birthday, if I do say so myself. We took a birthday cake to Cub Scouts tonight, so he got to share in the birthday joy with his scout buddies. We got him a Fuzion scooter which he absolutely loves. We also got him Mario Galaxy. I'll admit that was more for us then him :) In other words, we just wanted an excuse to buy it and his birthday was as good as any! I spent the morning baking and decorating cupcakes to take to his class. It has been such a busy day.

Petey: For the past several weeks Petey has been telling me about a kid in his class who picks on him. Initially, I gave him the advice of turning the other cheek. I told him that most people who tease are just trying to get a reaction and that perhaps if he ignores the kid he would stop. I know, this advice doesn't go far in the real world, but I didn't really know what to do at the time. On Monday, Petey told me he'd almost rather not go to school anymore than face this kid again. I hadn't realized it was bothering him so badly! I wrote an email to his teacher straight away. I'll include the emails behind this link, for anyone who's interested )
I was very pleased with how she handled the issue. If I haven't already made this clear, I LOVE his teacher. She's amazing.

Josh: He has turned into a chatter box lately and it is hilarious. Even his teacher commented on how chatty he has been. It's like his shyness has turned off. I find it very interesting that this change came on so suddenly. It's so fun to talk to him, and see how his little mind works.
