Last night in order to get Zack more interested in reading, I got out my old Calvin and Hobbes book. I haven't read Calvin and Hobbes since my kids became the age that Calvin was (six). Wow, it is amazing how accurately Bill Watterson pegged kids with that strip, particularly because he didn't have any at the time he was writing it.

Calvin exhibits a bit of each of my kids. Petey when he lost in his imagination and Zack when he's thoroughly grossed out by what his mom made for dinner. It was a successful experiment and Zack enjoyed reading it. Today I think I'll go to the library and pick up more comic books. I seem to remember enjoying "Garfield" a lot when I was a kid.

It's been cold and rainy here this week. The leaves are still putting on fireworks displays. I like it when the wind is blowing and the leaves are falling down like snow. Ok, time to get the kids to school.
