Aug. 22nd, 2007 02:48 pmChris made it home late Monday night. We spent all day yesterday unloading the truck and trying to unpack the essentials. It's like Christmas opening all these boxes and rediscovering our belongings. We keep calling to each other from room to room "Look what I found! I forgot about this (insert noun here)" It's fun, but I am pretty overwhelmed from all these boxes. I didn't label things well enough. "Books" is just too vague. Kids books, Chris' research books, my novels, what? I'm also finding boxes that I feel like I shouldn't bother unpacking. For example, my vases, wine glasses (we never, ever use those, lol) and other glass knick knacks. I may just keep them packed up until the next move. We aren't even throwing the boxes away. We're just tossing them into one of the dark resesses of the basement. We only signed a 10 month lease after all.
However...Chris found out today that one of the Political Science professors quit unexpectedly over the summer. Not that he could do poli-sci, but maybe with a little department shuffling...you never know what could open up... (this is totally just my wishful thinking, but a gal's allowed to dream.)
The boys have already made friends with neighbor kids. There is a set of 8 year old twins(a boy and a girl) right across the street from us. Yay! They've been playing over here and over there for the past two days. I love living in a house, I love living in a neighborhood. I just wish I could wiggle my nose like Samantha, or wave my wand like Hermoine and get this house perfectly in order. *sigh* ok, back to work!
