We had our first big exam in Chinese class yesterday. I think I did ok. I can read the characters, I just can't remember them all to write them. I was able to remember about half of them.

Josie the Go-Go (Go is chinese for dog) is doing much better. She's finally starting to act like a puppy. Yesterday she discovered the trash for the first time. I'm so glad she's feeling better.

I'm ditching class this morning (yet another wonderful aspect of auditing a class) to go into town with Chris. He wants to go to the antique bookstore. I've not yet had a chance to go there because it's not a place we can take the kids. Chris is convinced that I will be bored there since all the books are in Chinese and I'll want to hurry him away. I'm planning on taking my own book to read to occupy myself. I hope I'm not so distractable to that I can't just sit and wait while he browses. Although, to be fair, most of the Chinese bookstores we've been to are huge. We're talking 5 or 6 floors of books, each floor the size of one books-a-million. Our theory is that perhaps reading is a much more popular past time in China than it is in America.
