pumpkin pie pics

Here is our photo documentary tracking the making of our pumpkin pie from scratch. It was really a lot of fun, and certainly one of the best home school days we've had so far.




The first step is to cut open the pumpkin and scoop out all the seeds and guts. The pumpkins were still a little greenish on the inside, so I didn't know if that meant they weren't all the way ripe, or if that's just how this particular species of pumpkin looks.

( Next we cooked the pumpkin in the microwave for about 20 minutes... )
