Aug. 19th, 2006 01:55 pmLast night I woke up with horrible stomach craps. I've been told, repeatedly, that food poisoning and/or stomach problems are just part of living in China. As someone unused to the methods of food preparation and storage, it is par for the course to experience some severe tummy troubles.
I felt pretty luck that I'd made it for so long with no episodes so far. Mine struck last night while I was sleeping. I woke from a disturbing dream and had to rush to the bathroom. I'll spare you the details, but it was over as suddenly as it started. After my body had rid itself of the offending germs, I went back to sleep and woke up feeling fine. In fact, I woke up starving and fixed a pancake breakfast. Of course, it is my nature to try and figure out what I ate that made me sick. I think it may have been because I drank a Pepsi out of the can without washing off the top. Besides that, the family and I ate all the same things yesterday.
The zoo was no fun. It was a huge area that required long treks up and down hills in between animals. The animals were kept in small, dirty cages. I just couldn't wait to get out of there. And we kept getting separated from the rest of the group so we spent most of our time trying to find them. Oh, did I mention that we didn't have a map of the zoo? Yeah, it's hard to know where your going with out a map.
We did do a fun touristy thing though, and have the boys photographed with a snake. They liked that a lot. And I got a lot of great Engrish pics, which I'll post behind the cut.
