I don't know why I bothered banning myself from LJ because I still found plenty of ways to procrastinate this paper. For example, I went to MySpace and messed around for a while...something I rarely do. I did laundry, took an extra long walk, and even watched Star Trek. Anything but write that dang paper! I hate that I've lost my steam for school. I was so excited when I started back. Lately, I've been wondering if I even want to major in History anymore. I love History, that hasn't changed. But the scholarly writings of historians are just so vague and full of blustery words sometimes. I can't imagine myself being one of "them" and producing anything that resembles that type of scholarship. I love oral history and social history (history of "less important" people, such as women or minorities), but many historians discount this field of history as inaccurate or even unimportant.

Bah. What a bunch of snobs. Do I really want to become one of them? Chris was asking me just this week about Pharmacy school. It got me thinking.

Ok, back to deciphering the Emancipation Proclamation WHICH btw, historians believe was not written to free slaves at all, but rather to give the North a military advantage. Why can't we just take things for their face value for once?!
