Jul. 2nd, 2005 06:50 pmSince I am the only female in this home, I have no one to chat to. Of course I can talk to Chris, but he's having too much fun digging around in his dad's garage for treasures. As a result of no conversationalists, I am getting a lot of reading done (Shem Creek, a recommendation of my sweet MIL). I also spent some time digging around in the toy box with the boys. I taught them how to dig tunnels and they thought that was so cool. I love being cool.
I forgot to mention that last week was the last of my MIL's chemo treatments. Her lymphoma is officially in remission. I went with her on Tuesday to her chemo session. The center has a huge room full of leather lazy boy recliners, each with an IV pole next to it. On the day I went it was one of the nurses birthdays, so all the IV pole's were decorated with balloons and crete paper streamers. The music playing in the background is soothing circa-1940 type stuff. The nurses are all up beat and cheerful. I didn't see one grouchy face in the whole bunch. They just flit around that office, smiling and cracking jokes. It was quite refreshing. I know nothing they can do will make Cancer easy to deal with, but it seemed to me that the Center did their best to make it a little more bearable.
