Jun. 22nd, 2005 10:13 amChris will be home in 5 days. The boys and are so glad. We've enjoyed our time here with my parents a great deal, but we miss him a lot. We've been here long enough that everyone has settled down. Connor positively loves my dad and it is super cute. When my dad comes home from work, Connor rushes up the hall to greet him. I think my mom feels a little left out, but he's slowly growing to like her too. He likes her, he's just not as enthusiastic as he is about Grandaddy.
The kids are having a grand time playing everyday in my parent's backyard. Being here has really made me realize how much they are missing out on by us living in apartments. My parents backyard is large and surrounded by a privacy fence. There are no anthills, stickers, or animal poo out there so the kids can just run around barefoot in the thick grass. We've set up a slip and slide and the boys play for hours with it. Even Connor loves it. Yesterday I had to change his clothes 5 times because he kept getting wet in the back yard. Finally I just left him in only his diaper. Petey also went through a couple changes of clothes. I don't mind it at all though, because I know they are having such fun. Petey has had a few rough spots on this trip, though. He was stung by yellow jackets twice on his leg, right above his knee. Fortunately didn't have a bad reaction and he got over the trauma of it pretty quickly. Kids are so cool.
My dear friend Melissa came to visit yesterday. She brought her two daughters who are the same ages as Zack and Petey. They had great fun playing all day long and wore us grown ups slam out. After they finally fell asleep, we watched "Phantom of the Opera" and ate chocolate. I thought the movie was really good. (I've also seen the play and I felt the did an excellent job converting it into a movie). I could hardly sleep last night from the music rushing around in my head. I want to get the soundtrack. Melissa left early this morning. It was so good to see her. True friendship never dies does it? It is always there, just like it was only yesterday since you saw each other last.
<lj user=blackie_fox), we have to figure away to see each other. There must be a way!!!
