Thrift stores galore
Jun. 10th, 2005 04:14 pmYesterday we went thrift store hunting in Waycross, Georgia. It was great fun. I found all kinds of great books. The American Sphinx, which is a book about Thomas Jefferson; The Church Secretary's Guide, printed in the 1980's I thought this might give a good laugh to
blackie_fox (who knows maybe it will actually be helpful); and a weird fantasy/sci fi book about chickens. Some of the stores we hit were way expensive which is crazy for a thrift store. Others were jumbles of boxes which you had to sift through to find the good stuff. I love thrift store hunting. It is so fun to find that perfect treasure, or the not so perfect junk that is only a treasure to you.
We are back in Headland now. I guess there is a tropical depression headed our way. It was so nice of ya'll to whip up a hurricane just for my visit home. Thanks!
Still using the library internet. What would I ever do without libraries? When I was a little girl (preteen-ish), I used to ride my bike to the library and walk down the aisle (with my eyes closed) running my hand along the shelf. I would pick random books this way trying to find the next wonderful read.
