a new week
Apr. 18th, 2005 08:16 amIt is always nice to start a new week, fresh and clean with so many possibilities before me. I have to take an exam today, but it should be cut and dry. The prof. provided us with the essay questions beforehand so I can write them all out before I begin the exam (one of the many perks of online classes!)My other prof. has provided me with an alternate book I can read on the African American experience in Vietnam: "Memphis, Nam, Sweden: the story of a black deserter". Hopefully, it will be much less graphic. Chris will be able to get it from the University library for me. That's another blessing, since it list for $48 on amazon.com.
Also, I am helping to make the scrapbooks for Zack's kindergarten class and I need to get started on that. There's not much time left, only 6 weeks of school. I've done all I can with the supplies I have, so I need to make a trip to get some more paper. Thankfully, I'll be reimbursed for whatever I spend.
My uncle (my mom's sister's husband) has just been diagnosed with cancer. I don't know him very well; they've only been married for about 5 years. Apparently he's been sick for quite a while and simply didn't go to the doctor. Now that they've found the cancer, it is much too late to do anything. The doctor told him he had days to weeks to live. They also told him he extend his life up to 6 months if he under went Chemotherapy, but he decided against it. Hospice will be helping them from here on out.
For my other beloved family members who have been facing challenges this weekend: Just know that you are in my prayers, constantly.
