Jim told Pam that he was in love with her. She said she couldn't and a lone tear trickled down his cheek. Oh, it was such good acting. THEN in the next scene, you see Pam on the phone telling her mom what had just happened. Jim comes up behind her (the office is closed so it is dark) and he kisses her. What a kiss! and she kisses him back.
That's it. We have to wait for next season to see what she decides. It just blew me away because there was no build up to it. Jim just suddenly says "I'm in love with you." The audience is as shocked as Pam was. They did an excellent job on that episode.
Have you seen any of the British version? They're Tim and Dawn to us, and I got rather fond of them, too. I hope you get the end-of-series-two Christmas special *wink*
In fact, I'm now feeling the need to do a full comparision, because we never actually got a kiss, he asks her out when she's in an "off" moment with Lee (do you have a Lee?) and it's all a squirmy embarrassing office bit of gossip, but no kisses. Not at the end of series one? anyway.
Yes, we have a Lee (his name is Roy). He's not as good looking as Lee, though. Also, he's much less concerned about Pam and Jim than Lee is about Dawn and Tim. Didn't Lee slam Tim against the wall for tickling Dawn once? Roy just seems totally oblivious to the fact that Jim is hot for Pam.
Wait, I remember seeing a Dawn/Tim kiss. It was during a charity fund raiser and she was selling kisses. Remember? But it was nothing compared to Jim and Pam's kiss. It was so sweet and sexy at the same time.
I haven't seen the Christmas party episode. Tell me what happened! I've seen the first season, and a few episodes of the second season (up until when the boss is told he's been fired.)
Speaking of British entertainment, I've recently started downloading and listening to "The Now Show". I love it.
Okay! Lee and Dawn move to the US at the end of series two. The Christmas special is sort of a "where are they now" update as far as the "spoof documentary" goes. We find Dawn and Lee living with Lee's sister and Dawn working as an unpaid nanny to the sister's kids. Lee's talked her out of illustrating because it doesn't pay well enough and they are getting free accommodation for minding this baby. The documentary film crew offer to send them back to Slough for Christmas, the TV company are paying so Lee agrees. Tim, meanwhile is still at the Office, he turned down the manager's job, recommending Gareth as a better alternative. Once everyone hears Dawn is coming for a visit he is constantly given unsolicited advice not to ask her out again. He doesn't! He draws Gareth's name out of the "secret Santa" hat and grumbles about it, but someone offers to swap.
Lee and Dawn make their visit, the Office party happens and Lee drags her away early. She opens her secret santa gift in the taxi. It's a set of artist's materials and an anonymous note, "Never give up!"
We return to the Office party where a bedraggled Dawn returns, pounces on Tim, gives him a thorough kissing, to which Gareth comments, "Watch out mate! She's got a fiance," Dawn answers, "No, she doesn't!" The series ends. Forever we're told.
