Here's a pic of what I saw when I walked into the bedroom last night:

We played with it all night and only managed to get three songs and an audio book onto it. Those were the items I bought last night off of iTunes. I can't figure out how to download anything new, like from a CD I already I have. I've tried to follow the manual but I just can't do it. I'm so technologically handicapped. That's ok. I listened to "Jane Eyre" while I worked out this morning and it was awesome. It made the time go faster and I spent more time working out because I wanted to keep listening. Audio books were the main reason I kept hinting for an iPod in the first place :)

But, now that I have it, I also want to load some music on. I've been pretty much out of the music scene for quite a while. I'd love to hear some recommendations from my LJ friends as to some music ideas I should check out. I won't give you any hints about my musical preferences. I'm pretty open to trying new music genres. Ok, I will say this: I'm not interested in country music. Sorry!

Oh my god! So jealous, LOL! That is AWESOME!

I got an iPod as a present a few months ago. Back in Sept. or Oct.? Anyway. It's one of the 20gb one and can hold up to 5k songs. I only have 1800, LOL! Well, only . . .

Sounds like you already have iTunes downloaded. When you want to "burn" a cd to your music collection, simply put it in the drive. Make sure you have iTunes open. It'll automatically find your cd. What you do is then select the songs you want to transfer and move them into your library. That's what I did.

As for songs. If you've read my last few insane posts, you'll see I love all kinds of music. Right now I'm listening to Meatloaf, for crying out loud! And in defense of country, there are some great songs that aren't too terribly twangy! :)

Okay, I went to my most 25 played songs. But please keep in mind - I am insane.

(in no particular order)

1. Temperature by Sean Paul
2. Whiskey in the Jar by Flogging Molly (if you love anything Irish, you'll love them!)
3. Rompe by Daddy Yankee
4. Anything Beatles
5. Watch Me Bleed by Tears for Fears
6. Anything Tori Amos
7. Because of You by Kelly Clarkson (yep, one of those guilty pleasures)
8. Errr, you don't like country, so we'll just pretend Alabama ain't playin' right now! *grin*
9. Anything by Helmut Lotti - he's easy listening/classical/opera type music. Again, I am insane. That's my only defense. That and my mother smoked while pregnant and too valium. LOL!
10. Wasteland by 10 Years
11. I am Sailing by Rod Stewart
12. Errr, crap. More country. *clicks next*
13. Better Days by the Goo Goo Dolls
14. The Reason by Hoobastank
15. All These Things That I've Done by the Killers

Anyway. I have a crapload of music and could go on. But if you want me to send you anything, lemme know!

Oh! I love "Whiskey in a Jar!" Only my favorite is Metallica's version. So randy.

I'll Leave out (most) of the ones that are pure country.
Simple Man (Lynard Skynard version), Woman (Lennon), Low Rider (both War and Gary Hoey versions), Spill the Wine (War), Shameless (Garth Brooks), You Shook Me All Night Long (ACDC), Wild Flower (Cult), Keep on Truckin' (Eddie Kendricks), Superfly (Curtis Mayfield), Mary Jane's Last Dance - Free Fallin' - I Won't Back Down (all Tom Petty), When You Say Nothing at All (Kraus), Rubberband Man (Spinners), White Flag (Dido), Highwayman (The Highwaymen), Smooth (Rob THomas/Carlos Santana), Samba Pa Ti (Santana), Chitlins con Carne and Pride and Joy (Stevie Ray Vaughn), Little Wing (listen to both the Hendrix version and the SR Vaughn version), Stand by Me (Temptations), Just the Two of Us (I like the Al Green version), All Right Now (Bad Co.), Willit Go Round in Circles, Angel of Mine (Monica), You're My Best Friend (Queen), Swimming in Your Ocean (Crash Test Dummies), I'm Burning for You (Blue Oyster Cult), Please Come to Boston, Come Monday (Buffet), Why Don't You and I (Chad Croeger/Santana), Shallow Ground (Corrosion of Conformity), My Love Does it Good (McCarney/Wings), Never My Love (The Association), So Happy Together (The Turtles).

Those, and of course the current pop stuff; i.e., My Humps (BEP), etc. I also love Limp Bisket and some other bad stuff. I really love some of Metallica's beautiful music (like Unforgiven), but the words are not nice.
